Private Office
For a family-run company, we realized a branch office in the Westhafen Tower as an urban representation. The location overlooking the river forms the starting point for a restrained, precisely detailed interior with a high design ambition. At its center is a lounge as the communicative core of the office, serving both client interactions and the daily exchange among employees.
Details
Based on the client’s corporate design, we developed a finely nuanced color palette of sand and blue-grey tones. The key visual of a dune landscape was translated into color, materiality, and light as the guiding design concept.
The front area is defined by a spacious lounge as the heart of the office. A seating area, table setting, and an open kitchenette with a counter create a high-quality environment and a central meeting point. A glass panel, set into ceiling and floor tracks, subtly zones the table area from the entrance, while translucent curtains act as soft spatial dividers towards the rear office areas.
The zigzag motif, derived from the building’s façade, is carried into the interior and shapes the spatial perception. Both the pendant lighting and wall design reference this triangular geometry. In the lounge area, the motif remains clearly legible, while in the circulation areas towards the back of the office it gradually dissolves into a lighter blue gradient.
The design is characterized by a consistent attention to detail: recessed power outlets, a carefully coordinated selection of materials and furnishings, and a spatial organization that balances openness with discretion.
